Congrats Kenny & Adam – Runtastic Heber 5k

Two of our Wolfpack comp team athletes ran in the 5th annual Runtastic Heber 5k Run for Autism as part of the Heber Half this past weekend with beautiful morning temps and clear skies. The race was partnered with Valley Behavioral Health. They operate the Carmen B. Pingree Autism Center of Learning. This education center provides comprehensive treatment, teaching, and service for children with autism and their families.

Kenny and Adam both did an amazing job!

Both of our athletes at the start line.

Adam placed third in the 11-14 boys age division with a time of 22:39.17. The fourth place finisher was only two seconds behind him. Great job securing your spot on the podium, Adam!

Kenny took first place OVERALL and earned a new PR of 18:28.6. For the majority of the race, he paced behind last year’s winner (who happens to be a former varsity runner in track and cross country and recent high school graduate). Then in the last stretch, Kenny passed the leader and took the lead; managing to finish a full SEVEN seconds faster than the second place finisher. He ran that third mile in an insane time of 5:35. The runner-up showed wonderful sportsmanship and shook Kenny’s hand; wishing him congrats on a race well-run.

Everyone who finished the race got a medal, but only the top finishers got TWO medals; which both of our athletes earned. Great job to you both, way to make all of us proud!

Any time one of our athletes does something amazing, we would love to share about it on our website. If your athlete has an achievement to share, please shoot a message to media@wolfpackrunning.org so we can share it on our website and social media.
