Wolfpack Running Club is looking for two coaches to join our Competition Team for the upcoming 2027 Track & Field season.
We are currently looking for:
High Jump Coach
We’re looking for someone with knowledge of high jump who can help athletes develop their approach, takeoff, jumping technique, and confidence in competition. Many athletes will have never competed in high jump before, and some will be experienced competitors. Experience competing or coaching high jump is preferred.
Sprints Coach
We’re looking for a coach to help our athletes develop speed, sprinting technique, race strategy, and confidence. Our sprinters range from developing young athletes (ages 7-8) to more experienced competitors (ages 14-15), so we’re looking for someone who enjoys helping athletes at different levels grow.
What we're looking for:
We’d love to find coaches who have some previous coaching experience, but we’re also open to the right person who brings strong knowledge of the event and a genuine desire to work with young athletes.
All Wolfpack coaches are required to have:
- Current USATF membership
- Required USATF background check
- SafeSport certification
- A positive, encouraging approach to working with youth athletes
- A commitment to helping athletes develop both as competitors and as people
*We will reimburse USATF membership and background check fees.
The Season
Our Track & Field season runs from April thru mid-July, typically 13 weeks. We usually start training the Monday after Canyons School District spring break.
Trainings:
Monday / Wednesday / Friday
5:00-6:30pm
Corner Canyon High School or Juan Diego High School
Meets:
Most meets are held on Saturdays, with a couple of weekday evening meets. State and Region meets last 3 days (Thu-Sat)
We understand that coaches have different schedules and aren't necessarily able to commit to every practice and meet. We're willing to work with the right coach to find a commitment level that works for both the coach and the team.
Compensation
Compensation varies based on the coach's experience and the amount of time they are able to commit to Wolfpack.
Coaches with children on the team:
We offer registration reimbursement for up to two children, based on the coach's level of commitment:
- Full Coaching Commitment: Coaches who can commit to all three weekly trainings and attend most meets will have registration reimbursed for up to two children on the team*.
- One child: If a full coach has only one child on the team, that child joins for free, and Wolfpack will also cover that athlete's meet fees.
- Partial Coaching Commitment: Coaches who can commit to just 1–2 trainings per week and a couple of meets during the season will receive their child's meet fees covered for the season.
*registration reimbursement is processed at the end of the season.
Coaches without children on the team:
Coaches who don't have children on the team will be compensated at an hourly rate, with the rate based on coaching experience and qualifications.
We're happy to discuss the details with interested coaches and find a commitment and compensation structure that makes sense for both the coach and Wolfpack.
All Wolfpack coaches are provided 1-2 "coach" t-shirts each season and the ability to buy other Wolfpack merch at cost.
