Registration for Fall Cross Country is OPEN! Come join the Pack!

Running can be amazing for kids. It helps build confidence, improves sleep, and it can boost those feel-good endorphins. For some it's essential to get wiggles out and helps with focus. Some even see an improvement in their grades. Running on a team brings kids together and they make new friends in the process.

Cross country is also excellent for kids who play other sports like lacrosse or soccer, to build endurance and stamina. The athletes who cross-train with a running sport are often the ones who can run circles around their opponents.

ELEMENTARY PROGRAM

  • Grades K–6th
  • 6-week season
  • 15 teams in Draper & Sandy
  • Game-based workouts
    • Fostering a love for running
  • Fun lessons on endurance & XC basics
    • Kids build up to their racing distance, 1k, 2k, or 3k
  • 2 practices per week
    • Right after school lets out
  • Meets on Oct 3 & Oct 13
  • Training begins the week of Sept 25

COMPETITION TEAM

  • Grades 3rd–8th
  • 16-weeks of training focused on racing strategies, mental toughness & goal setting
    • Athletes build up to their racing distance, 2k, 3k, or 4k
  • 3 practices each week
    • Trail runs on most Fridays
  • Fun team environment
  • 4-6 meets (varies each season)
  • 3 Wolfpack-only races
  • Mile tracking
    • Athletes earn a t-shirt when they run 100 miles
  • Opportunities to compete at state & national meets
    • State & National Champs and All-Americans have come from our comp team!
  • Best for athletes who can comfortably run 2 miles without stopping
  • Training begins August 25
