Run with the Wolves XC Meet #2

On Friday, October 13th, we hosted the second of our Wolfpack Run with the Wolves cross country meets at Wardle Fields Regional Park in Bluffdale. There had been rain earlier in the week, so we were a bit worried about the fields being muddy, but the weather cleared and the Wasatch Mountains were showing off with their beauty.

Extra special thanks to our rabbits for their hard work. Hunter H. was a member of our comp team for years until he headed off to high school. He was gracious enough to run as rabbit in ALL five of our races at this meet. He had a little help from Mason C. (another former member of our comp team), along with Teagan H. and Adam M. who are current members of our competition team. Thank you, Hunter!!

We started off the afternoon with our youngest runners and their 1k race. These runners are mostly in kindergarten and first grade. In this race, a handful of parents are allowed to run with their kids. The second race was a 2k with our second and third grade runners.

Our last two elementary races were our oldest elementary athletes running 3k races. These athletes are in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade.

The last race of the evening was our Competition and Open 4k race. Our comp team was the bulk of the group running, but we also had a handful of athletes from other local teams. We also had a handful of elementary athletes who ran our 4k in addition to the races they had already done that day!

It was a fantastic evening made even more wonderful by our amazing coaches and volunteers. We cannot thank you enough for helping make our meets happen.
