2023 Border Wars

This past weekend marked the first meet of the 2023 season with the Border Wars cross country meet. This is a multi-state meet for high school and middle school athletes. Athletes were invited from Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, Colorado, and Arizona. Our middle school athletes did an amazing job on the tough course at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City.

The first races were for high school students. Our program only goes until 8th grade, but it was still a treat to cheer on a few of our former teammates as they raced with their high school teams. Extra thanks to the athletes who stopped by our tent to say hi.

The middle school race was the last one of the day and they had boys and girls run together.

Our team did fantastic with both our boys and girls teams placing second. Here are our athletes who placed in the top 20.

Girls

4th – Lilly J.
7th – Teagan H.
8th – Khloe P.
9th – Bridget S.
13th – Emmy F.
14th – Lulu M.

BOYS

6th – Sam J.
8th – Matt C.
16th – Adam M.
17th – Vinny D.
18th – Burk M.

After the race, a few of our athletes took a dip in the creek to ice their tired feet.

Congrats on a great first race of the season, Wolfpack!

This week we have two different meets on Friday. Many of our middle school athletes will be heading to Boise, ID for Bob Firman XC. The rest of our team, including our younger athletes, will compete at the TwiKNIGHT XC Meet in American Fork.
