Elementary Meet #2

Our Elementary program came to and end for the 2023 track & field season at Elementary Meet #2 last week.

You can view the official results here.

For weeks, we’ve been experiencing gorgeous, sunny mornings only to see big thunderstorms roll in mid-afternoon. This Friday afternoon was no exception and we had rain more than a few times throughout the meet. Our elementary athletes took the rain in stride (quite literally) and did an awesome their events.

Our 1600m runners toughed through their laps followed by our 100m sprinters.

Next we ran our heats of 400m runs and then, a team favorite, the 4x100m relay. The intermittent rain made the track a little slippery in spots, so there were a couple of slips during relay handoffs. Throughout the day our athletes did their long jumps and javelin too.

Thank you so much to our AMAZING elementary program coaches. It’s not easy herding… er coaching a group of kids with such a wide age range, let alone teaching them new skills. Another big thank you to the comp team coaches and elementary volunteers who helped run the meet. We literally couldn’t do it without you. THANK YOU!

Check our website towards the end of summer for information about our Elementary Cross Country program in the Fall. If you’re interested in coaching an elementary team in the Canyons School District nex fall, please reach out to Elementary Program Director Tom Sharkey, elementary@wolfpackrunning.org. See you next fall!

Enjoy some photos from the meet. Tom has already emailed coaches a gallery link to view and download all of the photos our photographers were able to take who will send on to families.
